Thank you for my life. Yoga saved my life. I teach my 6 year old granddaughter too and any child and parent I get to work with. Where did you move to? Thank you for being you. I’m crying from your authenticity. That message was powerfully true. Peace and Blessings to you and your family always.

I have attended several of your classes when you came to Philadelphia to do a master class. I grew up in a violent household, and your description of the brick throwing incident was very similar to incident my brother participated in at school in the 50s. I just got off the phone to talk with a social worker about my brother who is in a psyche ward now stemming from chronic abuse of alcohol. I wish my parents had known about yoga. It was the 50s and WHO KNEW! I’m so grateful I found yoga in my life. I am so grateful for the inner peace I found and am able to share as a yoga instructor. I teach yoga in a local county prison, and when I run into some of my students outside they thank me for the classes again. It was their cold drink of water when walking through the dessert.
Your story also makes me wonder if you had been a person of color and thrown the brick. Maybe your parents wouldn’t have been able to resolve the situation and you had the opportunity to go to Hawaii to begin a yoga journey, but would have gone to the criminal prep school of reform school instead. Off from your blog post…..but our justice system is not equal for skin color, and it is especially unfair to brown/black skinned males that are acting out. Yoga for these boys would make such a difference.
Thanks for your blog post.
Namaste.
