5 Elements Iron Buddha
This very simple but deeply restorative practice. It is what is known as medicinal Qi gong. In Chinese medicine, each element (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, Fire) are related to a specific major organ in the body (Lungs, Heart, Kidneys, Liver, Spleen). Each if the 5 movements focuses on a specific element and so a different organ of the body. The Iron Buddha practice that this is supplemented with is also a great exercise to remove toxins from the body and is especially beneficial for when we are run down and sick. Aside from the internal aspects, this set is a great, simple, non-strenuous stretching practice ideal for anyone with movement limitations or looking to develop deep core strength and flexibility.
